About

‘Queens of Earth’ is a blog about the social, political and economic conditions facing women in the 21st Century.  Although it may be of interest to younger generations of men and women, I am writing this blog for American women like me who came of age in the 1960s and 1970s during the formative years of the Women’s Rights Movement.

The main focus of each blog will be to describe and discuss an ‘unintended outcome’ of the Movement.  These trends may not have been anticipated at the outset.  At the time, I spoke out regularly about the possibility that the radical platform advocated in the first decade of the Movement would need to be monitored and adjusted, particularly regarding separatist issues with men and the early trend to encourage mothers into the workforce.

To that end, this blog is primarily about inspiring a discussion of continuing choices and empowered decision-making for women.

The title ‘Queens of Earth’ comes from a belief I had as a young girl that my adult life would be about making a difference in the world.  My counter-culture experiences supported that women could change the world through personal empowerment and the exercise of love and compassion toward their men, their families and their communities.  I didn’t want to be a woman among women working for corporate institutions.  I wanted to be a ‘Queen of the Earth.’  This blog takes me back to those early days and philosophies.

I welcome your honest discussion and contributions to my posts.  .
